HRG is an abbreviation
for High Resistance Grounding. Basically, it is an electrical supply system. It
is used frequently in applications that cannot afford a sudden shutdown. HRG is
also used for applications that control ground-fault voltage on drive
equipment.
There are different
predictive and protective devices being used for several high performance, and
heavy-duty applications, to ensure there is no shutdown and there is control
over the entire process. Let us discuss two of such devices, the generator
controller and the potentiometer that is motorized.
A Generator Controller is a
module that is responsible for starting a generator engine. This controller
module plays an important role in monitoring various generator protections. It
also helps in displaying warnings or shut down the engine. The warning alarms
of engine shut down become really important especially during the event of
protection being out of a defined range. It provides integrated protection,
control, and monitoring solutions by synchronizing, controlling frequency, load
sharing, power management, engine control, and more. Also known as the Genset
controller, this type of controller, is simply great equipment for generator
sets such as marine, emergency, and power plant generator sets.
Let us now discuss the
potentiometer. Used in various industrial automation and process control
applications, this type of device processes control applications such as speed
controls, flow meters, and tensioning motors. A Motorized Potentiometer
is responsible to carry out a smooth performance, high linearity, and
resolution, reliable terminations, and durability. This device is strong enough
to withstand some of the hardest conditions. This highly efficient power saver
device serves to provide integrated protection, frequency, and voltage
stabilization. It keeps a check on automatic synchronization, active and
reactive load sharing, and programmable inputs and outputs, and data
acquisition.
